Appointment of New Executive Director at AGFUND

The Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) has announced the appointment of Hammam bin Nasser bin Juraied as its new Executive Director. This decision was made during the 32nd meeting of the Board of Directors, which took place at the program’s headquarters in Riyadh. The meeting was attended by board members and representatives from the Gulf states, with Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal Al Saud serving as the Chairman of the Board.

Prince Abdulaziz, along with other esteemed board members, welcomed the newly appointed Executive Director. They expressed their confidence in his abilities and emphasized the importance of continuing AGFUND’s development-oriented approach. They also highlighted the need to strengthen the program’s impact on humanitarian actions and sustainable development both regionally and internationally. This appointment is seen as a step forward in AGFUND’s broader strategy to enhance its institutional framework, improve operational efficiency, and expand its developmental impact.

Background of the New Executive Director

Hammam bin Juraied joined the Arab Gulf Program for Development in the third quarter of 2025 as an adviser to the Chairman of the Board. Prior to this role, he held several leadership positions across the public, private, and non-profit sectors. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Ekhaa Foundation for Orphans, worked as the General Supervisor of the Developmental Housing Program at the Saudi Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, and most recently, as Vice President for Strategic Partnerships and Communications at the Pilgrim Experience Program, an executive initiative under Saudi Vision 2030. Additionally, he serves on the boards of various charitable and non-profit organizations locally and internationally.

Recognition and Professional Achievements

Bin Juraied has been recognized for his contributions, including receiving the GCC Joint Youth Action Award, presented by the late His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may he rest in peace. With over two decades of professional experience, he has led strategic transformations, built multi-sector partnerships, and developed institutional systems across government, development, and non-profit sectors.

He holds a master’s degree in Communication and Development from King Saud University and has participated in several specialized executive programs in leadership, communications, and development work offered by leading academic institutions. He is also a graduate of the Program for Leadership Development (PLD) at Harvard Business School.

This appointment is expected to enhance AGFUND’s readiness for the requirements of the next phase and support the continuity of its pioneering role in development work. It aligns with the sustainable development goals and reinforces AGFUND’s position as a leading development institution at the regional and international levels.
